SMART is now SMART Reading

SMART is now SMART Reading

We’re excited to share the news that, after 27 years of sparking a love of reading and learning in Oregon kids, we’ve updated our brand. The rebrand was driven by the desire to improve the way we tell our story, attract new supporters to our mission, and strengthen our long-term sustainability.

A lot of the way we talk about our work, including our mission and vision, has evolved as a result of this process, but the most visible changes we’re making are a new name and logo.

  • Our name has been streamlined from Oregon Children’s Foundation dba SMART (Start Making A Reader Today) to SMART Reading. This change makes our name easier to say and remember, and clears up confusion created by our legal name. Please update your records for us accordingly.

  • With our new logo (see above) we sought to create something that represents the essence and energy of SMART Reading that’s also memorable and easy to recognize.

While these are big changes, our work to create brighter futures for kids through books and reading remains unchanged. In 2019-20, we’ll reach 11,000 kids statewide with two ingredients critical for literacy and learning success: one-on-one reading time and access to books.

Thank you for being part of our community of Oregonians who are committed to ensuring all kids in Oregon can realize their full potential through reading. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at smart@getsmartoregon.org.
