Free Climate Lawsuit Curriculum

Free Climate Lawsuit Curriculum

We are excited to share our three lesson curriculum based on the youth climate lawsuit brought by two young Oregonians against the State of Oregon, Chernaik v. Brown, which will be argued before the Oregon Supreme Court on November 13, 2019, at David Douglas High School in Portland before hundreds of students.

This new curriculum, built around this historic lawsuit, provides teachers with an opportunity to engage students in lessons on current events, civics, climate science, youth-led movements, and the law. The curriculum is available for free download.

We hope that every student in Oregon will learn about the Chernaik climate lawsuit and the power of youth to effect change, so:

  • If you are a teacher, download our free three lesson curriculum for use in your classroom today.

  • If you are a student, ask your teacher to add this curriculum to your class.

  • If you are a parent, ask your child’s teachers and local administrators in your district to teach these lessons.

If you have any questions regarding this new curriculum, please contact OCT Public Engagement Coordinator Corinne Fletcher at corinne@ourchildrenstrust.org. With the oral arguments in Portland fast-approaching, we are excited and eager to see this curriculum integrated into Oregon classrooms as quickly as possible!

Thank you for your support,
