Building Community in the Virtual Classroom
What happens to Place Based Learning when we are sequestered? How do we share the stories that provide understanding of ourselves and our communities? Join us in bringing community, connection and deeper meaning to the virtual classroom (and beyond). We are harnessing this unprecedented opportunity of crisis and isolation and transforming it into an opportunity to strengthen and restore ourselves, our students, and our communities.
At the conference, veteran teachers and other practitioners will share innovative and highly doable ideas that break down physical walls using storytelling techniques that cross disciplines. Conference workshop leaders are longtime CWI associates who come from K-16 classrooms, administrators concerned with larger issues of equity, along with community-based educator-innovators from a wide array of fields, including the arts, science, folklore, social justice, and more.
