EcoDistricts is proud to announce that our next Webinar Wednesday will be hosted by Dr. Julian Agyeman of Tufts University, a key thought leader of the movement to center racial equity and justice in the urban planning and design profession.
In this provocative and engaging conversation, Julian will outline the concept of just sustainabilities as a response to the ‘equity deficit’ of current sustainability thinking and practice. He believes that what our cities can become (sustainable, smart, sharing, and resilient) and who is allowed to belong in them (recognition of difference, diversity, and a right to the city) are fundamentally and inextricably interlinked. He will highlight his scholarship and writing with examples from urban planning and design, urban agriculture and food justice, and the concept of sharing cities.
