Van Jones’ insight into the contemporary American experience helps us recognize how individuals and institutions have “come apart” from each other, and inspires pursuit of the many paths to coming back together. Following his Visiting Sage public address on September 12, we invite you to join us over dessert and drinks to digest the themes Van asserts in Beyond the Messy Truth, his New York Times Bestseller that offers “a blueprint for transforming collective anxiety and strife into meaningful change.”
All are welcome for this intimate evening of conversation and community. We hope to see you at Van’s Portland lecture, but you don’t need to have attended the talk or read the whole book to have a meaningful discussion about the current divides facing our communities and political institutions. Join the intergenerational group SAGE, the Coalition of Communities of Color, and Beneficial State Bank for an evening of cross-cultural conversation, new connections, desserts, and collaborative solutions for coming together.
Many thanks to The Joinery for welcoming us into their gorgeous showroom for the evening and to certified B Corps Nossa Familia Coffee and Winderlea Vineyard and Winery for the beverages!
