December 1st Thursday opening of “16 Cranes,” an exhibit of landscape photographs of the Portland Harbor, the last 10 miles of the Willamette River, also known as Portland’s superfund site. Photographs were taken with these question in mind: “How does an industrial corridor get rehabilitated to ecological health while it remains an active shipping channel? How do the conflicts between our economy and our environment get resolved in an ecologically sustainable way?” The title comes from the number of industrial cranes counted from Swan Island to the Columbia River (actual numbers may vary).
