Disco Soup, co-hosted by the Portland Farmers Market at PSU and Slow Food Portland, is part of World Disco Soup Day, a global Slow Food Youth Network (SFYN) effort to raise awareness about food waste and climate change. On Saturday, April 27th, groups around the world are hosting events to rescue perfectly good food headed for the waste stream.
Disco Soup at the PSU Farmers Market will rescue food from market farm vendors, and make soup that is shared with event participants and the public. Prepare and cook with us starting at 10 a.m. We’ll eat together at noon!
Youth DJs from Friends of Noise, a Portland non-profit organization supporting youth music events and education, will be spinning at Disco Soup.
