Development Drinks

Development Drinks is a monthly gathering hosted by GlobalPDX, for people interested in international development. This social event is meant to be a chance to connect with others and to learn about the work of GlobalPDX members. This month’s speaker is Child Aid. Their mission is social and economic development through literacy. Child Aid focuses on rural villages where illiteracy is disproportionately affecting indigenous people. They achieve this mission through an integrated, multi-year program that provides teacher training, librarian training, and the distribution of over 100,000 Spanish language children’s books to schools and libraries.
