Creating Healthy Communities: The Connection Between Nature and Health Equity

February 14, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

The Intertwine Alliance is excited to continue its series of Health & Nature Forums with an event focusing on health equity.

Health equity, the creation of accessible pathways to health resources and benefits for everyone in the community, has become a greater focus of attention in health care. As we examine the many factors that influence one’s wellbeing, issues like economic status, jobs, transportation and housing are now seen and understood as critical determinants of health, lessening the focus on one’s genetic makeup. In addition, leaders are looking beyond these social issues to ideas that the environment itself can play a larger role in determining individual and community health.

Join other community health and conservation leaders for an in-depth exploration of these ideas, and help us formulate creative strategies for injecting nature into this important community-wide conversation. We’ll announce speakers, panels and other details soon.

This will be the seventh Health & Nature Forum since the series launched back in 2014, and we look forward to seeing both return and new faces. Questions? Please email Program Director David Cohen at david@theintertwine.org.
