The Backyard Habitat Certification Program is hiring two part-time habitat technicians to serve our west Portland and Washington County areas! The full job description is attached – and the application deadline is extended to 5pm on Monday, May 20th.
This unique program is a partnership between Portland Audubon and Columbia Land Trust. Together we work with community members to provide tools and resources to help them maintain their yards in ways that support wildlife, people, and the planet.
Habitat Technicians represent both Portland Audubon and Columbia Land Trust and will be primarily responsible for meeting with program participants to provide site assessments, recommendations and evaluations for certification. Secondarily, the Technicians will be responsible for outreach assistance and other administrative tasks as agreed upon. We are looking for candidates that are self-motivated, highly-organized, with a background in environmental education, knowledge of Pacific Northwest native plants and nuisance/noxious weeds, and excellent customer service skills. Candidates of color are strongly encouraged to apply.
