Would you like to teach kids about the wild world of animals? The Oregon Zoo is committed to
conserving the world's wildlife and habitats. Our education programs provide fun and exciting
ways to share your commitment to this work and become part of a team of passionate and
talented teachers. The zoo provides a wide variety of seasonal camps, classes and programs
that promote conservation. We offer education programs throughout the year, but our busiest
seasons are spring and summer. Apply now to join our team. Part-time and full-time seasonal
temporary positions are available.
Camp counselors implement existing program curriculum or non-formal education activities.
They work in a team to teach thematic programs for participants of all ages using zoo exhibits,
hands-on activities, animal bio-facts and discovery stations. Activities are taught using multiple
learning styles in a non-formal educational setting. Instructor I staff utilize best practices in
teaching and non-formal techniques and child/group management. Instructor I staff may be
asked to assist in the assessment of learner outcomes. These positions may mentor youth or
adult volunteers.
